Hwang Kee founded his 1st Moo Duk Kwan® martial art school in 1945 and worked tirelessly his entire life promoting the Moo Duk Kwan® name, philosophy, values, technical standards and all that distinguished his martial art instructors and schools from others.
Since 1945 Hwang Kee's Moo Duk Kwan® martial art school instructors have produced hundreds of thousands of alumni who have a training history connection to the Founder; however, only a select few achieved and have maintained the high standards of quality and excellence expected by Hwang Kee in his Moo Duk Kwan® martial art schools and thus only the best of the best have retained legal authorization from Hwang Kee to use his Moo Duk Kwan® name.
Today, a martial art school or instructor using the Moo Duk Kwan® name and operating without a licenses from Hwang Kee or his successor granting authorization to use the Moo Duk Kwan® name may be perpetrating fraud on unsuspecting consumers.
